Raatti stadium and Swimming Hall
Raatti Stadium and Swimming Hall sit just a stone’s throw from Oulu’s city centre, in the beautiful river delta on Raatinsaari Island. Opened in 1953, the stadium quickly became a national sports landmark. In the 1960s it hosted major events, including the first-ever Finnish Athletics Championships held in Oulu in 1964, and later football A‑internationals and athletics meets.
After a major renovation in 2009, Raatti shines again as a top venue for football and athletics, offering 4,392 seats and modern VIP facilities. Its heated natural grass pitch — the northernmost heated turf in Finland — makes the stadium truly unique.
Raatti is the beating heart of sports in Oulu. When you visit, take a moment to explore the exhibition along the concourse and dive into the fascinating history of Raatinsaari and Oulu’s sporting heritage.
