Kalamaja

Tarvaalan Kalamaja is a beautiful lodge built from aspen logs, offering accommodation and meeting facilities in the village of Tarvaala in Laukaa, near the Tarvaalankoski rapids and the local community hall.

The lodge is suitable for year-round accommodation and meetings, making it an excellent destination for hikers, anglers, and boaters alike.

Close to Tarvaalan Kalamaja, visitors will also find the beautiful hiking destination Kirkkoniemi with its lean-to shelter, campfire area, and swimming spot, as well as the historic Hartikka church grounds and the Stone Age burial site of Hartikka. 

Fun fact: “Kalamaja” could be charmingly translated as “The Fish Cottage.
