Laukaa Church

Laukaa Church is an Empire-style wooden church located in Laukaa, featuring early signs of Neo-Gothic influence in its decorative moldings and pointed-arch windows. The church was designed by architects Carl Ludvig Engel and Anton Wilhelm Arppe, and it was completed in 1835.

The church’s altarpiece, painted by court artist R. W. Ekman, depicts Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration. The altarpiece was carefully restored in the summer of 2013.

The organ of Laukaa Church has 36 stops and was built by the Kangasalan urkutehdas in 1963.
