Speaking of teeth, in 52, Helsinki not only welcomed many international guests, but also a lot of new foods, hamburgers and Coca-Cola, Lonkero and crisp bread.

By the way, I am Aallotar, and my job is to remind you that even on a fun trip, it's essential to grab something good to eat and maybe sip some coffee at the lovely cafes along the way.

Did you know, Lonkero, a gin and grapefruit based long drink, was specifically created for the Helsinki Olympics to speed up service in bars and restaurants. It is still a well-loved drink today, with a huge variety of flavors.

Indeed, thousands of people came to Helsinki from around the world. Some came here to compete and contribute to the games, while others came to marvel at the competitions and our exotic little city.

You should have been there to smell the incredible aromas, especially in the massive food tent in Käpylä, where you could smell and taste all sorts of delights. The athletes brought with them exotic spices and ingredients, curry and chilies, those unheard of flavors and aromas in Finland at the time.

Many cafes were established in Helsinki for the duration of the games. Although there was a shortage of almost everything, there was plenty of coffee for everyone.

Helsinki received a shipload of coffee from Argentina as a donation for the games. And we were also gifted a whopping 72,000 bottles of Coca-Cola.

But let's head towards Linnunlaulu. It's not directly related to the year 52, but it's such a beautiful place that we should visit it.
