Ohtaansalmi Bridge

The Ohtaansalmi bridges, which separate Savo from Karelia, are located along Highway 9 on the border between the municipality of Tuusniemi and the city of Outokumpu.

The current bridge (1996) was built next to the old bridge (1952), creating a landscape and historically valuable ensemble. The new Ohtaansalmi Bridge is the longest slab girder bridge in Finland, with a length of 96 meters.
