The Southern Exhibition Hall
The exhibition Built from Ruins - The Castle of Erik and Carin Bryggman in the Southern Exhibition Hall showcases the stages of the castle’s restoration from 1946 to 1961. The chief architect for the project was Erik Bryggman, whose work was later continued by his daughter, interior architect Carin Bryggman.
In the exhibition, you can see what Turku Castle looked like before the extensive restoration project, and what kind of plans were made to restore the castle. The exhibition also highlights the many challenging labour phases of the restoration, as well as the master builders and craftsmen who did the practical work.
