Saarijärvi museum
History and Art All Year Round
The main building of the Saarijärvi Museum hosts rotating art and cultural history exhibitions throughout the year. In addition, the museum features a permanent exhibition of Saarijärvi visual arts, as well as a sculpture exhibition in the courtyard, a traditional vegetable garden, a restored meadow by the shore, and Toivi Järvinen’s art home.
The café has a shop offering local products ranging from literature to souvenirs.
Other summer museum destinations include the Säätyläiskotimuseo, Juhola, and Kivikylä. Guided tours of Toivi Järvinen’s art home and the Herala art home are available by appointment. The museum’s exhibitions are listed in the Saarijärvi city event calendar and on the museum’s website.
