7. Chalice from 1826

A chalice designed by Gustaf Grönholm in 1826. The bowl and stem of the chalice are smooth, whereas the nodus—the rounded, protruding “knot” in the stem—is decorative. At the junction of the bowl and the stem, there is leaf profiling, which is also visible on the outermost parts of the chalice.

On the side of the chalice, there is an inscription in Swedish, which translates as follows:

“Donated to the new church of the city of Helsinki by the merchants F. Remander, G. F. Kählman, A. Liljefors and I. F. Flodberg on the day of its consecration, 17 December 1826.”

The chalice has been placed in a protective container designed for it.
