Maritta Romppanen, Dreaming

Painting

Maritta Romppanen (1962–2003) graduated in 1996 from the Turku Drawing School, after which she actively participated in the art life of Turku. In her art, recurring themes are silent meditators, women in motion, and the hope for a beautiful life. She worked with various techniques in painting, drawing, and object art, combining sensitivity, humor, and a strong presence in her works.

The painting was part of Roger Broo's art collection, which was donated by Harriet Silius in 2021.
