The New York artist captured her version of "Monterrey" in a mural full of figures to contemplate on the Water Plant building. Katie Merz's process is spontaneous and fluid; it doesn't start from a preconceived idea. "Everything happens in the moment," she explains, "I try to position myself in the absolute present and hope that projects."
